Chic Ziegler Mia Red/Tan Hand Knotted Wool Rug - 8'0'' x 9'9''

Bold scrolling vines and large palmettes in burgundy, gold and ivory sweep across the red field, framed by a tan border. Measuring 8'0'' x 9'9'', it is a 8x10 hand knotted Ziegler rug.

Ziegler rugs began in the 1880s, when a Manchester firm commissioned large, softly colored floral carpets in the Sultanabad region of Persia for European homes. This rug's red field and tan border give it a bold and flowing look. It is hand knotted in Pakistan by skilled artisans from hand-spun local and fine merino wool with the Turkish double knot. A gentle abrash adds depth, and the pile is trimmed, stone-washed and sun-dried for a natural sheen and a soft feel underfoot.

Choose it for a living room seating group, a dining room under a table for six to eight, a primary bedroom under a king or queen bed or a great room. Its bold, flowing design suits traditional, transitional and eclectic rooms and makes a confident statement.
