Oversized palmettes and flowing vines in gold and brown fill the gray field from end to end, inside a tan border. Measuring 8'1'' x 10'0'', it is a 8x10 hand knotted Ziegler rug.

The Ziegler style, also known as Peshawar, Chobi or Oushak, is loved for its oversized palmettes and open floral drawing. Here the gray ground and tan frame create a rich and traditional balance. Skilled artisans in Pakistan hand knot it with the Turkish double knot from a blend of hand-spun local and merino wool, rich in lanolin. The pile is stone-washed and sun-dried, giving it a soft sheen, a subtle abrash and an antique look.
